Leonard Residence by Ehrlich Architects

The Leonard house design by Ehrlich Architects, built at 4,000-square-foot residence is situated on a 45-degree-angle downward sloping canyon site in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles. The entrance level is greeted by a permanently-installed corten steel and glass dining table designed by the Architect. A two-story living room is suspended over the canyon on a structured concrete slab that also serves as the finished floor. From this level, a floating tread stair ascends to the master bedroom/bath suite and a floating reading loft affords classic LA views through the 20-foot high glass walls. Access to a roof terrace above the garage fosters sunbathing and relaxation.
Luxury brown house design by GLR Arquitectos

The living room, as well as the dining and family rooms, all have large windows with views of the garden, allowing light to penetrate deep within the spaces as well as creating a seamless interplay between the interior and exterior spaces. The exposed concrete wall defines and encloses the swimming pool and garden areas of the house and sets the tone for the design of the house itself, which is clad in brown/black volcanic stone, IPE wood, white stucco and steel.
In the private areas of the home, which is articulated through a long corridor, the occupants have access to a second garden, located at the highest point on the building site, which is less formal and more recreational.
